My favorite twitter clients
If you haven’t heard about twitter by now, you may well be living under a rock. in a cave. in the ocean. Yeah, twitter’s pretty popular.
Now the web interface might be enough for you, but if you constantly need to have twitter open, without keeping another browser tab open, try one of these desktop clients.
TweetDeck (Pictured) a popular choice for many twitter users. Built on Adobe Air, this app seperates out your twitter feed into multiple collumns for your friends’ updates, your @replies mentions, your Direct Messages, and whatever else you might want to filter out. My only issue is that it takes up a lot of screen space, but that can be combatted with the narrow collumns option.
Twhirl A lightweight app. Takes up very little screen space, and does everything a twitter client should do. Uses Ping.fm to cross post your tweets to facebook, blip.fm, identi.ca, and other services.

Digsby (pictured)My favorite multi-protocol IM app. Digsby will do AIM, MSN, GTalk/Jabber, Yahoo!, ICQ, Facebook chat, and it will also check social networking sites like Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You can also set up your email accounts, and it’ll alert you of new mail
Twitterfox This Firefox addon is a very simple client. No facebook integration, no cross posting, just twitter. Does everything you can do from the web interface, but in a little icon in your Firefox statusbar.
